Action Planning is used for projects or events that are scheduled for delivery in a year or less. We invite participants to identify the elements that they believe are essential to make this project/event a success. We then facilitate a review of the strengths and weaknesses of the planning group and the benefits and dangers to the organization in this undertaking.
Participants develop a commitment statement which identifies the elements of the project/event that all of the participants agree will be accomplished within the coming year. We then identify the Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time Bound (S.M.A.R.T.) actions necessary to achieve it. We complete the Action Planning S.M.A.R.T. actions necessary to achieve the elements on a calendar and check for anything missing.
